In a landmark development for India’s burgeoning F&B cloud kitchen sector, Kouzina Food Tech, a leading Bengaluru-based food platform, has made a strategic investment in MOPP Foods, a fast-growing Delhi-NCR cloud kitchen startup featured on Shark Tank India Season 2. This strategic investment merges Kouzina’s technological prowess and nationwide network with MOPP Foods’ robust portfolio of popular brands, including Mealy, Mad Over Parathas & Pakodas, Yum Biryani Bowls, Khichdi In A Bowl, and Sassy Indian. Through this partnership, MOPP’s brands will expand to over 200+ kitchens across India, operated by Kouzina and its partners.
“Parathas and pakodas are the quint essentials of the Indian QSR segment, and the kind of variety that Geetika and Gaurav have created is something which hasn’t been done before. Add to it, the innovation and global level standardization that they have brought about in their process is commendable. We have a global view for the company, given that Indians are spread across the globe and we would leverage our international network to help them achieve the same,” said Mona Singh, co-founder, India Accelerator.
Founded in 2019 by Geetika Anand Gupta and Gaurav Gupta, the startup currently operates three brands – MOPP – Mad Over Parathas and Pakodas, Mealy and Mad Over Curry across Delhi NCR. MOPP has reinvented the recipe of pakodas to make them delivery friendly, as they are less oily, do not become soggy and remain crispy on delivery.

Mealy will also be available in a subscription model wherein a customer can pre-book meals on a monthly basis which will be delivered to the doorstep. Meals is a huge market in India with brands like Box8 and Rebel Foods (now Eat Sure) building high value startups in this segment. Mealy is an attempt to tap this opportunity and create a national brand. Currently delivering across Gurgaon via Zomato, Swiggy and direct orders, the brand will also be launched from multiple locations in Delhi and Noida in Q1 2021.
MOPP cofounder Gaurav Gupta revealed that the idea came up when he and his wife returned from abroad and found it difficult to order non-oily snacks. So, a cloud kitchen specialising in pakoras and parathas was set up in 2019 that has grown in variety and scope. The company currently runs three outlets and operates as many brands, including the anchor brand MOPP, a wholesome, tiffin-style meal-offering called Mealy and a range of Indian curries under Mad Over Curry.
Today, MOPP Foods, founded by culinary enthusiasts Gaurav Gupta and Geetika Anand Gupta, is proud to unveil its latest venture, Yum Biryani Bowls. Fueled by a passion for North Indian cuisine and a desire to make traditional dishes an everyday indulgence, the brand aims to redefine the biryani experience by offering high-quality, authentic meals at affordable prices.
